General Description

The Director of the American Samoa Government Sports Complex Management Office (SCM) is responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, and development of the Veterans Memorial Stadium, the Golf Course, and associated facilities. This role involves strategic planning, event coordination, staff management, and community engagement to ensure the stadium serves as a premier venue for sports and community events in American Samoa.



Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the Veterans Memorial Stadium and the Golf Course ensuring facilities are well-maintained and meet safety standards.

  • Event Coordination: Plan, schedule, and coordinate sports events, including logistics, team coordination, and community outreach.

  • Staff Supervision: Manage and train staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and excellent customer service.

  • Budget Oversight: Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and seek funding opportunities for facility improvements.

  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with local sports organizations, schools, and community groups to promote the stadium's use.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term plans for facility upgrades and community programs.

  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant American Samoa Government laws, policies, and regulations.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of sports facility management, event coordination, and community engagement strategies.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency in budgeting and financial management.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.

Academic and Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in sports management, facility management, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in sports facility management or event coordination, with at least two years in a supervisory role.


Salary

The salary is competitive and based on experience and qualifications. Specific compensation details will be provided upon request.
